Felipe Sevilla del Río was a Mexican writer, historian and poet from the state of Colima.
He was born on February 12, 1910, the son of José Refugio Sevilla Padilla and Mercedes del Río Fuentes.
During his childhood he had contact with nature, so from a young age he began to write his first verses such as La Satiresa, El Pastor y El Fauno and his poems dedicated to the state of Colima, La Feria, La Ciudad de la Palmas, La Ola Verde and Cuyutlan.
He translated documents and in order to publish his book Brief study on the conquest and founding of Colima, thanks to which he marked his appointment as life president of the Colima History Society.
In 1962, on the occasion of the death of his mother and wife in less than a month, he dedicated his studies to historical research.
